    Pressure Transmitters

A pressure transducer is also known as a pressure transmitter and is used to measure pressure. It measures the force of fluid that is applied to its surfaces. The built-in strain gauge measures the force applied. The gauge deforms and changes by the voltage produced by it. The sensor then converts the pressure acting on it, into an analogue electrical signal which is then transmitted to PLC’s or controllers where they are processed and recorded. The pressure measurement is based on the degree of change seen in the voltage.

    Pressure Transducers Explained

    Where are Pressure Transducers used?

Pressure Transducers are used in a wide range of commercial and residential applications that require pressure measurement, such as water pump systems, heating and chilled sealed systems, altitude, air speed, flow and level control and monitoring applications.

How to select the correct Pressure Transducer

As we have seen, steam traps are installed in order to remove condensate from the system. This is important for two reasons. Firstly, it helps to maintain the efficiency of the system by preventing corrosion and erosion. Secondly, it helps to prevent foaming, which can reduce the efficiency of the system. There are a variety of different types of steam traps available, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The type of trap that you choose will depend on your specific needs and requirements.

What are the main types of Pressure Transducers?

There are various types of pressure transducers, which are based on their measurement technology. The main types are shown below:

    • Strain gauge pressure transducer.
    • Capacitance pressure transducer.
    • Potentiometric pressure transducer.
    • Resonant wire pressure transducer.
    • Inductive pressure transducer.
    • Piezoelectric pressure transducer.
