    Section Pumps

We provide a wide range of vertical can-type ring section pumps and vertical tubular casing pumps. These can be installed on a base frame with multi-stage or single-stage impeller design, as well as end suction to suit flanges of DIN or ANSI type.

These are used in industrial plants and power stations via boiler feed systems and condensate recovery.

    Boiler Feed Pumps Explained

What is a Boiler Feedwater Pump?

Boiler feedwater pumps are a crucial part of any boiler system. They are used to pump feedwater into a steam boiler using high pressure. The water can be freshly supplied or returning condensate which has been produced because of the condensation of the steam from the boiler. A boiler feed pump is manufactured to withstand high water pressure to move the feed water into the boiler system.

Choosing the right Boiler Feed Pump

For a boiler system to work efficiently, the boiler feed pump must be a suitable fit. It is essential to compute the exact requirements for the boiler feed pump correctly. Our pump expert will be able to help you select the correct pump, which in turn will help you to save money from energy savings, maintenance, and downtime in the future.

    Boiler Feedwater Pump Maintenance

    Thermostatic Steam Trap

Boilers feed pumps run continuously 24 hours a day 7 days a week and maintain a continuous flow of water at a given temperature. A typical duty change over between each pump is done every 7 days to maximise the life of each pump.

Maintaining the boiler feed pumps is crucial for your boiler system to work well. Any changes in water temperature, flow rate, pressure and the quality of the feedwater can have a detrimental effect on the working condition and life.

    Float & Thermostatic Steam Trap

Cavitation causes pump performance deterioration, mechanical damage, noise, and vibration which can ultimately lead to pump failure. Vibration is a common symptom of cavitation, and the first sign of issues. Vibration causes components to fail, including the shaft, bearings, and seals. Locally, it results in the liquid turning to a vapor creating extremely high temperatures and pressures. Bubbles form during cavitation and as the pressure in the pump increases, the bubbles collapse and implode violently, which is equal to an explosion. The implosion causes shockwaves to travel through the liquid and hit the impeller causing catastrophic damage to the integrity of the pumps.

    Pumpforce Maintenance Programme

Pumpforce not only supply boiler feed pumps, but we also repair and maintain them too.

Our Boiler Feedwater Pump maintenance programme includes:

    • Inspect of pumps to check for leakages, audible noise, dynamic stresses, and vibrations
    • Replacing motor bearings, mechanical seals, O rings, NRV’S. Overhaul or replace chamber stacks
    • Commission all work carried out
