INTRODUCING YOUR GO TO GEEK
When we asked around many of you agreed that it would be really useful to have a quick, free and easy way to get answers to all your valve related questions. And this is exactly what Valvegeek is here to do.
As the name suggests he is a total valve boffin. And whilst this probably means that he wouldn’t be your drinking partner of choice it also means that he can help to resolve any technical issues, 24 hours a day.
Simply type in your question and Valvegeek’s technical team will respond. Whether your query is basic or highly complex you will receive an answer to your problem straight away.
Questions so far include:
Q What is the advantage of bellow sealed valves over the traditional gland packed stuffing box design?
A The Valveforce 234 bellow sealed valve is designed to eliminate leaks through the bonnet, therefore becoming maintenance free. The operation is also smoother thanks to reduced friction from the spindle movement.
Q What valve do you recommend for steam? Globe or gate? And, what is the best valve to be installed with pump?
A You could use either, providing that all the pressure and temperatures (including seat) are up to the job. Gate valves are often used when pressure drop is a potential issue, as the straight through design often has minimal resistance to flow. A globe valve, however, has an inherent pressure drop due to the up and over design.
So, don’t sit there scratching your head when Valvegeek is here to help.
You might even see your question in print in the next issue of our Quarterly newsletter Valveforce Vision.
We look forward to making your life just that little bit easier.
