Urgent Process Control Valves for Paper and Pulp Recycling
A leading paper and pulp recycling company required a fast and reliable Ball segment control valve package for a new stock preparation system. What was the problem?
The client was installing a new stock preparation system and needed specialist control valves that demand robust and self-cleaning performance to handle challenging “dirty water” media, such as fluids containing paint, grit and scum.
In addition to the harsh application, the project was urgent, so speed was of the essence.
How did Valveforce help?
Valveforce partnered with SOMAS to supply KVM ball segment control valves, specifically selected for their durability and performance in demanding “dirty water” applications within stock preparation systems.
The SOMAS KVM and KVT ball segment valves are engineered for difficult process environments, offering high flow capacity, excellent sealing regardless of differential pressure and a self-cleaning action as the ball segment rotates into the seat. The KVT design also supports both ON/OFF and modulating control applications, providing flexibility across the system.
To meet the client’s tight project timeline, Valveforce worked closely with the SOMAS production team to accelerate manufacturing, assembly, and testing. This collaboration enabled delivery of the complete valve package within just 6 weeks—significantly faster than the typical 10–12 week lead times quoted by other manufacturers—ensuring the project remained on schedule.
What did we supply?
Valveforce supplied the following SOMAS valves:
3 × DN50 KVMW
4 × DN150 KVMW
2 × DN200 KVMF
2 × DN300 KVMF
All valves were supplied with pneumatic actuators and SIEMENS 4–20 mA electro-pneumatic positioners, fully aligned with project specifications.
