Continuous Blowdown Valves

Continual evaporation in the steam generating unit increases the dissolved solids content of the boiler water. If this is not kept to a low level, sediment and scale builds up throughout the steam system.
This has a number of effects including:
Reduced effectiveness of heat transfer increasing fuel costs
Increased maintenance shutdown and costs due to the requirement to service scaled up products
Production efficiency decreases as heat transfer to critical process becomes less effective
GESTRA's BAE valves have a wear-resistant nozzle with a geometry and design that are specifically for continuous blowdown applications. It is a reliable solution that can handle arduous, continuous boiler blowdown applications at very high differential pressures.

Safer and more efficient steam production
Monitor your boiler water levels safely and accurately with GESTRA level controls.
These closed-loop controllers use capacitance probes, level transmitter features and a modulating control output for pneumatic valves.
The level controller lets you know when the pre-set water level limit, minimum or maximum, has been reached and automatically opens or closes the control valve accordingly to protect your boiler.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) controls

Total dissolved solids (TDS) controls
During formation in the boiler steam leaves behind impurities, total dissolved solids (TDS). If left these impurities concentrate and could cause damage to your boiler.
In addition these solids build scale on the fire tubes and reduce the heat transfer. The effect is higher steam production costs.
Total dissolved solids controls measure the electrical conductivity of the boiler water which detects the level of total dissolved solids in your boiler.
Accurate control of total dissolved solids minimises blowdown, reduces the risk of boiler carryover, improves productivity and significantly reduces operating costs including fuel and chemical treatment.
RK Non-Return Valves
Product: RK86 / RK86A / RK86E/S
GESTRA's RK (wafer-type) non-return valves are for sandwiching between flanges.
The valve has a spring to allow installation in any position.
The valve self-centering body uses patented centering cams specifically for RK 86/ RK 86A which make installation easier and faster, reducing costs.
Our RK non-return valves are ideal for liquids, gases and vapour applications.
AK Automatic Drainage Valve
Product: AK45
Discharge air and condensate on start-up
The AK 45 automatic drainage valve rapidly and automatically discharges air and condensate from steam systems on start-up and drains residual fluid when the system is shut-down.
The integrated spring enables the AK 45 to open without pressure.
The valve closes as soon as the operating pressure increases to the closing pressure set. If the operating pressure falls below the closing pressure once more, the AK 45 is opened by a spring force and drains residual fluid preventing the formation of a vacuum.
BK Thermostatic Steam Traps – Bimetallic

Effective condensate removal or air venting
Steam traps with GESTRA's thermovit regulators means the opening and closing process is controlled by the interaction of bimetallic plates and a stage nozzle.
It is precisely this principle that makes these steam traps from the BK thermostatic steam traps - bimetallic series highly responsive, very efficient and extremely robust.
DK Thermodynamic Steam Traps
Product: DK47
DK thermodynamic steam traps
These steam traps work on the basis of a simple thermodynamic principle.
Incoming condensate lifts the disc of the regulator to the open position, whilst steam causes it to close immediately.
The traps in the DK series are simple in construction featuring a small, compact body and are low in cost.
These steam traps are sold only on a project requirement basis.
MK Thermostatic Steam Traps
Product: MK36/ MK45
Effective condensate removal or air venting
The responsiveness of the balanced pressure membrane regulator is a distinguishing feature of the MK thermostatic steam traps in the membrane series. This makes it suitable for heat exchangers where efficient operation is not adversely affected by minimal condensate build-up. Most heat exchangers are oversized and can make efficient use of not only the latent heat present in steam, but also the sensible heat present in condensate.
MK thermostatic steam traps can be effectively used as steam distribution drip traps, steam tracing applications and a myriad of other applications where they contribute to proper and energy efficient system operation.
UNA 25-PK-PS Ball Float Steam Traps with Pump Function
Product: UNA 25-PK, PN 40, DN 40
Discharge and lift condensate
UNA 25 PK ball float steam traps with pump function primarily functions as a steam trap.
However by integrating this steam trap with an automated pump function you can discharge condensate, even under reduced steam pressure or high back pressure.
The condensate is then efficiently pumped out of the body using the aid of motive steam.
The UNA 25 PS has a pump function to return condensate with motive steam.
UNA ball float steam trap
Product: UNA 14 / UNA 16 / UNA 38 / UNA 39 / UNA 45 / UNA 47
Ball float steam traps remove condensate from steam, cold condensate or distillates.
These steam traps use a tried-and-tested low friction, rolling ball seal.
They are durable and guarantee maximum tightness.
