    Low Temperature Hot Water Explained

What is an LTHW Skid Package?

An LTHW skid package is a factory-built heating system that transfers thermal energy from a primary heat source into a low temperature hot water circuit. Operating typically between 70°C and 82°C, these systems provide an efficient source of heating for commercial buildings and industrial processes.

Heatxforce designs every package around the correct heat exchanger, ensuring optimum heat transfer between the primary and secondary circuits. Pumps, pipework, instrumentation and controls are then integrated into a compact skid-mounted assembly that arrives on site fully tested and ready for installation.

How Do Heatxforce LTHW Skid Packages Work?

Heat transfer sits at the centre of every LTHW skid package.

Thermal energy from a primary source, such as steam or high temperature hot water, passes through a plate or shell and tube heat exchanger. The heat exchanger efficiently transfers energy into the secondary LTHW circuit without allowing the two fluids to mix.

The heated water is then circulated throughout the building using carefully selected pumps, while intelligent controls continuously monitor temperatures and system performance to maintain stable heating conditions.

    Heat Transfer Process

    • Primary heating medium enters the heat exchanger
    • Thermal energy transfers into the LTHW circuit
    • Pumps distribute heated water throughout the system
    • Sensors monitor temperatures and operating conditions
    • Controls adjust performance to maximise efficiency
